Global Studies MA Program Overview The Global Studies MA is a two-year interdisciplinary “applied research” degree that combines scholarly rigor and practical skills. Alongside tailored specializations and courses led by industry professionals, graduates of the master’s in global studies program also have the chance to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world scenarios. Our Master of Science in Global Studies and International Relations prepares students for internationally focused positions in the U.S. and abroad to take on the complex challenges formed by modern globalization. The Erasmus Mundus Master in “Global Studies – A European Perspective” (EMGS), an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD), is offered by an international consortium of six high-profile European participating universities, together with partner universities all over the world. As an interdisciplinary, the Master of Science in Global Studies programme captures and reflects some of the most dynamic, complex and interrelated contemporary factors impacting the International arena.

Students are trained in both intercultural theory (i.e., history, anthropology, worldview studies) and practical application (i.e., communication and leadership) to enable them to serve and lead in multicultural and global contexts. The Master’s Programme provides the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of how globalization shape lives, environments, and possibilities for action and imagination. You will explore global issues and gain a critical understanding of the main challenges facing global society today, and contribute to finding ways forward. The Master of Global Studies (MGS) program is designed to prepare students for internationally oriented careers in the public, private and non-profit sectors, as well as for doctoral studies in political science and related disciplines. The Global Studies major allows students to explore such interactions and their outcomes. By bringing in both historical and contemporary material, the major provides students with the tools that they need in order to make sense of the world in which they live—as well as understanding how it got to be that way. The one-year Master in Advanced Global Studies is a full-time program, running from late August to the end of June, and including a January intersession. Classes are taken in the heart of Paris , at Sciences Po's main campus in the St-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood.
